Once you have selected a region to travel in and gone to one of the Traveline journey planners, use the options to select the mode of transport. You should deselect all the mode options except for bus.
![]() If you are travelling using a concessionary fares card you need to be aware of the information from the card issuing authority, usually your local authority, to confirm the availability of free travel. When travelling across several regional boundaries you will need to plan your journey in sections between towns close the regional boundary. Here are some examples:
How long will it take?It will take most of a day to travel across each Traveline region by local bus.Journey times will depend on how many breaks in journey you choose to have and whether you choose a route to take in scenery and places of special interest. Because local bus travel is usually slower than rail or coach a diversion from the most direct route is likely to add significantly to the time taken. While you travelYou can phone Traveline from anywhere in Scotland, England and Wales and speak to a travel adviser for the region you are in. From a mobile phone you will be asked to select the region you wish to speak to. You can find the code numbers you will be prompted for.
