Travel by train or coach and local bus

Traveline has comprehensive information for local transport and can also be used for longer distance journeys. Each area journey planner includes all the rail services and most of the coach services across Scotland, England and Wales.

If your journey requires local information at the destination choose the area where your destination is located. You may not be able to enter the precise location of the starting point of your journey but you will be able to enter the name of your nearest rail station and possibly your coach stop.

If when travelling between different parts of Scotland, England and Wales you want to enter a postcode or address at the start and end of your journey, this is a facility offered by Transport Direct which uses Traveline data.

Changing between services

Connections are not usually guaranteed and you may need to select another journey option if a missed connection would cause you inconvenience.

Booking a seat

If you can plan ahead and are travelling in a group, booking not only makes it easier to find a seat, but may also enable you to take advantage of lower cost fares. The links on the right will enable you to book tickets on line for the rail and coach parts of your journey.
